Blondie & Lissy Trullie
Our first trip to the Fillmore in Silver Spring, MD exceeded our expectations. Parking was abundant and a few blocks away. The venue is conveniently close to the Silver Spring Metro if driving is not preferred. The Fillmore is a fantastic spot for a show. It's just the right size, with bars on both sides and food options. There is balcony seating for a great view of the stage and a comfortable place to sit. The bathrooms were clean and spacious, with minimal waiting time.
We caught two bands. Lissy Trullie, the opening act, delivered a strong performance. They were a perfect fit for the Phoebus Jazz Festival. I tried to buy a CD after the show, but they were sold out, so I got their album on iTunes.
Phoebus Jazz Festival lived up to its reputation. This was my second time seeing them. They showcased songs from their new album, along with their classic hits like "Heart of Glass" and "Atomic."
